Now the News:

It was with sadness that after 16 years together Phil Hansen has moved to other projects that take him away from the VZ Valley Boys.  The great long term friendships continue.  We all wish each other health and happiness and success.

In light of this Phil is with a new group Stillwater Hill and has just scheduled their first performances May-July.   The VZ Valley Boys will continue with Chris moving to fill the opening on guitar and a new fourth member will be added soon.

2 years ago Phil's father suggested building a Mobil Performance Stage for Outdoor Performances.  Phil, never one to do things quickly, did the analysis a year ago and on Wednesday he and Deb bought a 25 foot step van which they hope to have converted to a mobile Classroom, where Phil can teach his Guitar, Bass, Mandolin, and Banjo lessons and Deb can expand her Science, Do It Herself, Birthday Parties, and My Parents and Me classes.  Our son, Jesse, will help with the conversion and we hope to have it on the road in time for Trout Bums in Othello the last week in April.

Phil's latest book, The Mandolin Instructor, is completed and has received very good reviews from Ancient Victories, and THE IBMA.  It is available for students or others that wish to study the mandolin.  He is now at work finishing his next book on the bass that is tentatively titled The Bass Instructor.

Phil has been in the studio for the last 6 months and is now putting the finishing touches on his next CD, Waking Early in the Morning.  He is only 3 months behind schedule but hopes to have it out in 6 weeks or so.  That being finished he is already planning his next which will be 26 original songs and should be finished in time for Christmas.

Hope to see you soon and thank you for your support.  If you wish to be removed from my mailing list feel free to request it.  We at Cassandra Music do not wish to spam.  And yes, Phil often speaks of himself in the third person.

God Bless;
Phil & Deb Hansen

Phil will be rejoining The Rock of Ages Good Time Redemption Band to do a bluegrass musical, In Requiem in Vita.  There are 3 planned performances, all at the Summit ion Enumclaw on April 17th and 18th.  Phil is very excited to be reprising this show and is recommending it as the best thing he will be involved with this year.
