Cursillo - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Check out this website I found at en.wikipedia.org

Cursillo method applied by:

Kairos Prison Ministry

A traveling group of Catholic Men and Women that visit prisons and help rebuild the faith of inmates. The group normally includes at least one Priest or retired priest. A chance to give confession. and very openly talk about the hundreds of minor day to day things that cause a inmate to get angry and upset. When you compare your troubles with Christ's pain and suffering at the cross. It makes your heart ache in such a way that the pains that were there disappear. Learning to trust in prayer and meditation to refocus on Christ in all parts of your life. Bringing you back to your Baptism vows, which are taken at your conformation also. The basics of why the Catholic Church is and does many of the things that other faiths don't.

I know the group had a great effect on me. Expanding by sharing the hardships. One of the group that came into one of the Prisons was wheelchair bound on oxygen through a tracheal tube, came every month and was refused on time the Guard on duty couldn't find his access badge. To have someone in that condition come nearly 100 miles and end up spending the time in a van waiting out that weekend. To come back the next month with a glowing report of praise about the number of Guards that stopped and talked and prayed with him.

It's a great reminder that Christ IS and miracles still happen.
