|  | Article Headline |  It's a busy Long-weekend coming up and we're part of it!..... and we're going all out! We haven't played with the Oily Girls (A.K.A. The Well Oiled Sisters...well, 3 of them...) in a l-o-n-g while (we first met in Edinburgh in '96, and then gate-crashed their Womad gigs in England, they came over here... played a few with us... we went back to England, met up, etc.... back here... you get the drift...) AND, so we have taken the opportunity of their recent Australian Tour to join forces once more. There'll be three bands on the night starting at 8.30pm with Palomino. We'll be rocking out with Julia day on drums and special guest appearance on strings from Louise Woodward... ..so if you haven't made plans for Saturday night yet, organise a group of friends you haven't seen in a while, book a table and come to the beautiful Thornbury Theatre, on High St, Thornbury. Dinner/show tickets still available.... Don't miss it... it's gonna be fun!! |

...And the very next day we'll be on the very beautiful Phillip Island, playing our own Picnic In The Vines at The Purple Hen Winery in Rhyll. Enjoy music, food & wine - and a view that has to be seen to be believed - in the early evening light - we'll start around 5pm and finish around 9pm... lazy island time! We're setting up on the lawn at the winery, so Bring Your Own picnic rug and/or chairs, food... and there'll be wine a soft drinks for sale. If you don't want to pack your own picnic, the Island Foodstore has offered to do it for you with a picnic box. You'll have a choice of vegetarian quiche or bacon and egg tart, one of 3 choices of salads - coleslaw, couscous or chickpea - and a piece of cake.. all for $18 wow, i sound like a TV commercial.... no free steak knives though!... but they will throw in a fork.... Click on the link for details... We'll also have a local young-up-and-coming-singer-songwriter, Cassi deLacy-Vawdon playing keyboard as support. The long-range forecast is for a beautiful day, so see you there! |
